A Message from the Escondido Chamber of Citizens' President,
Lisa Prazeau:
Happy 2010!
This year is going to
be a big year locally
with our upcoming
Elections in November!
The Chamber of Citizens
has already confirmed that
we will be supporting
Richard Barron
for City Council.
In addition, to the
elections, the Chamber
of Citizens will hold our
3rd Annual Community
Outreach Event - our
Water Workshop was a
real success, last year.
We will also have a
Membership Drive and
we will be at both
Street Faires this year -
in May & October!
The members of the
Escondido Chamber of
Citizens have done a
very fine job working
for our Community!
Thank You, All!
Let's keep our momentum and continue to work for the positive - for the overall good of our community.
My motto for the year:
"Progress Through Participation. Let's Do It Again, in 2010!"

Mission: The Escondido Chamber of Citizens' unique mission is to represent the interests of the average resident, to assist neighborhood groups, to engage in educational efforts regarding public issues and by working with officials at all levels to assure the members of our community an optimum quality of life.
About Us: As many know, the Escondido Chamber of Citizens was instrumental in the passing of "The Growth Management and Neighborhood Protection Act", adopted in 1998. Also known as "Prop S", the Act allows “voters in the city” the right to vote on the amount of growth and development in our residential areas, over and above what the General Plan now allows.
The Escondido Chamber of Citizens believes in a sustainable society through well-planned, fiscally-responsible, controlled and managed development.
Author John Schaar wrote: "The future is not some place we are going to, but one we are creating. The paths to it are not found, but made, and the activity of making them changes both the maker and the destination."
Founding Members: Fortunately for many citizens in Escondido, the Chamber of Citizens was established. We would like to recognize these founding members for their enormous and invaluable contributions. We thank these members for their commitment and vision. They are Appreciated! Objective: The objective of the Escondido Chamber of Citizens shall be to preserve the integrity and intent of the General Plan of the City of Escondido through political and community effort, with a particular focus on land use and quality of life issues.
Structure: The Escondido Chamber of Citizens is a non-profit general-purpose political action committee (PAC) within the meaning of California law, and is registered with the Secretary of State and the Fair Political Practices Commission as such under FPPC # 971112. Niel Lynch, Treasurer.
